About

The news with the noise removed.

Noise Removed is a family of daily news shows, one desk per beat, from Signal Media, an independent newsroom in Washington, D.C. Every morning each desk reads the day’s reporting from across the political spectrum, measures the spin in every story — the loaded language, the framing, the agenda — and removes it. What’s left is the record: what is known, what is disputed, and what to watch. Fifteen minutes to hear, a minute to scan, twenty to read in full. Free.

Produced by AI. Directed by humans. The research, the checking, the scoring and the writing are done by an AI, under a method people wrote and people direct; a person approves every episode before it airs, and when the show is wrong it says so at the top of the next one. Who does what, in full: How it’s made · Editorial standards · The Spin Index · The host.

Readers fund it. There is no paywall, no advertising and no sponsor on the air. Members keep it that way, and have a say in which desk launches next. Become a Member →
